These winter bicycle pogies will help keep your hands toasty warm all winter long. Whether you chose to ride barehanded, or add some gloves or mittens inside, your hands will be protected from wind and snow.
Pogies are like giant mittens that fit over handlebars to allow the rider to operate shifting and braking using thin gloves or bare hands. This smaller size was designed for kids, but many smaller adults have been buying them. It reaches the elbows of an average 8-year-old.
There are elastic shock cord drawstrings at the bar cuffs. The arms are longer than most brands to keep blood warm on its way to the hands.
Each pair includes a pair of bar-end plugs that clamp the pogies to the bars.
These ones are shorter on the bar and narrower arm than the standard size, they are great for kids or for folks with average forearms who won’t be using a puffy jacket. They are shorter than I typically make so will not be as warm as I recommend for expedition use by adults.
The outers are water resistant PU coated 600D Polyester, the inners are heavy fleece. My son has cold hands and finds them sufficient with thin gloves as low as -15ºC.
